DuPont, Kerr-McGee up TiO2 pigment prices 1 March

HOUSTON (CNI)--DuPont and Kerr-McGee Chemical said Friday they will increase prices for titanium dioxide (TiO2) pigments effective 1 March.

In separate announcements, both companies raised the cost of Ti02, with DuPont's increases limited to North America and Kerr-McGee's global.

DuPont's white pigment and mineral products unit said prices would increase in the US and Canada for its DuPont Ti-Pure and Ti-Pure RPS Vantage TiO2 pigments.

Effective 1 March or as permitted by contacts:

  • Ti-Pure titanium dioxide coatings, plastics and specialty grades in the US will increase by $110.20/tonne and Canada prices by $138.50/tonne.
  • US prices for RPS Vantage and RPD Vantage titanium dioxide paper grades by $66.12/tonne and Canadian prices by $83.12 /tonne.
  • US prices for laminate grades by $110.20/tonne and Canadian prices by $138.50/tonne.

Kerr-McGee Oklahoma City, Oklahoma said it is raising its Tronox TiO2 pigment prices:

  • In the US by $110.20/tonne for all grades except paper and specialty grades, which will increase $154.28/tonne.
  • In Canada $138.50/tonne for all grades.
  • In South America and the Asia/Pacific region all grades by $100/tonne and in Europe by $129.18/tonne.
  • In Australia, by $76.24/tonne.
