LONDON (CNI)--Basell said Thursday it hopes to start commissioning its 225 000 tonne/year capacity polypropylene (PP) plant in Tarragona, Spain in April.
Construction has been completed and the plant is undergoing testing, said a spokesman for the European polyolefins producer.
Two existing PP plants at the site, with a combined capacity of approximately 150 000 tonne/year, will close when the new facility comes onstream.
Basell will also shut its 180 000 tonne/year PP line in Wilton, northeast England in May, said the spokesman.
