AspenTech Forms Pacts

Celanese AG has signed a new software license and service agreement for the company-wide deployment of AspenTechnology Inc.'s energy management and optimization solution, Aspen Utilities. The first phase of the implementation will cover six major sites. AspenTech has also signed a global software license agreement with the Bayer Group, which includes AspenTech's engineering software solutions.

Atofina, Ceridian Team

Atofina Chemicals Inc. and Ceridian Corp., an information services company for human resource management, have formed an agreement under which Ceridian will provide payroll, tax, human resource management services and self-service through Ceridian Source 500 Assist, the company's managed business solution in a hosted environment and Ceridian Source Self Service.

Sopheon Launches Service for Intellectual Property

Sopheon PLC, a knowledge management software provider, has introduced a subscription-based service for intellectual property management that includes access to patent analysts, including scientific and technical personnel. The product allows service subscribers to contact the analysts by telephone, e-mail or through a Sopheon-supplied desktop portal.

Eli Lilly Selects MaterialNet for Strategic Sourcing

Eli Lilly and Company will use MaterialNet Inc.'s Custom Procurement Management System to streamline its strategic sourcing. Material Net is a provider of e-sourcing solutions for indirect and direct materials, goods and services.

DuPont Teams with SpecialChem

DuPont's white pigment and mineral products business unit has joined SpecialChem SA to provide technical expertise on titanium dioxide. SpecialChem is an information source for properties and performance specifications for polymer additives and masterbatches. Its service offerings include a product database, online technical assistance and specialized technical articles.

SAP Portals, HP Team

SAP Portals Inc., a subsidiary of SAP AG, and Hewlett-Packard Company have formed a global agreement to provide fully integrated and open portal solutions to enterprise customers. The alliance will combine SAP Portals' enterprise portal and business intelligence solutions with HP technology and consulting services. HP Services has been named a global consulting and implementation partner for the delivery of all SAP enterprise portal solutions.
