LONDON (CNI)--US-based Eastman Chemical said Wednesday it expects to complete the expansion of its polyethylene terephthalate (PET) plant in Workington, England in October.
A source at the company told CNI the expansion, to be achieved by debottlenecking, will bring the plant's capacity up to 145 000 tonne/year from 127 000 tonne/year.
Separately, the source also confirmed that the expansion of Eastman's PET plant in San Roque, Spain was completed in February. The Spanish plant's capacity is 160 000 tonne/year, up from 140 000 tonne/year.
