HOUSTON (CNI)--Eastman Chemical said Tuesday it will begin a planned four week turnaround at one of its three 136 000 tonne/year ethylene crackers in Longview, Texas later this month.
Eastman declined to specify a date for the shutdown or the restart.
The Kingsport, Tennessee-based company said no customers will be affected by the shutdown because the company had stored sufficient qualities of ethylene to meet customer demand.
The cracker accounts for about 20% of Eastman's ethylene output of 680 580 tonne/year at the plant.
