SINGAPORE (CNI)--BP Amoco Malaysia restarted its 600 000 tonne/year purified terephathalic acid (PTA) plant in Gebeng, Kuantan, on 18 May after an unexpected four-day shutdown, a company source told CNI on Monday.
The plant was closed on 14 May due to a mechanical problem.
The plant is currently operating at close to 100% capacity, the source said.
BP told CNI earlier that it might have to delay the delivery schedule for June cargoes for some customers because of a loss in production which amounted to close to 10 000 tonne.
