SINGAPORE (CNI)--Dow Chemical and Asahi Kasei have pushed back the startup date of their 50:50 joint venture polystyrene (PS) project in Zhangjiagang, China, to the middle of this year from early 2002, CNI was told on Tuesday.
No reason for the postponement of the project was given. A Dow spokesman told CNI that the 120 000 tonne/year project was progressing well, but he was unable to provide an exact startup date.
The project will be operated by a joint venture company Styron Asia Ltd (SAL).
