Celanese to raise acrylic acid, acrylate esters prices

HOUSTON (CNI)--Celanese Chemicals said Monday it will increase global selling prices for a number of chemicals including glacial acrylic acid and acrylate esters effective 1 July, citing increased raw material costs and product availability.

According to Celanese, prices of glacial acrylic acid, methyl acrylate, ethyl acrylate and butyl acrylate will increase by $110.20(Euro118.50)/tonne in the US, Euro150/tonne in Europe, Africa and the Middle East and $110/tonne in Asia and South America.

The Dallas, Texas-based company said it also is increasing prices for 2-ethylhexyl acrylate by $132.24/tonne in the US, Euro150/tonne in Europe, Africa and the Middle East and $130/tonne in Asia and South America.

Celanese Chemicals is the acetyl product sand chemical intermediates business of Germany's Celanese AG.
