HOUSTON (CNI)--US plastics compounder A Schulman has completed a $15m (Euro15.3m) expansion at the company's plant in Sindorfkerpen, Germany, boosting capacity for engineered compounds by 35% to 57 169 tonne, Schulman said Thursday.

The 18-month project included construction of a major plant addition, a new warehouse and two new manufacturing lines, according to company spokesman Bob Stefanko.

Akron, Ohio-based Schulman said the expansion should help the company pursue further growth in its European markets.
