SINGAPORE (CNI)--Styron Asia Ltd (SAL), a 50:50 joint venture between Dow Chemical and Asahi Kasei, will start up its 120 000 tonne/year polystyrene (PS) plant at Zhangjiagang, China, in September, an Asahi Kasei source told CNI on Tuesday.
The company had earlier pushed back the startup of the PS project to Q3-2002 from mid 2002.
The Asahi source said that the plant was in the process of conducting trial runs and would be able to begin commercial production next month.
