US Vulcan boosts prices for liquid caustic soda, potash

HOUSTON (CNI)--Vulcan Chemicals said Wednesday it is raising its prices for liquid caustic soda and liquid caustic potash in the US and Canada effective tomorrow or as contract terms allow.

The company said it is increasing all off-schedule prices of liquid caustic soda by $55 (Euro56) per dry tonne in the US and Can$85 per dry tonne in Canada.

The company said it is increasing prices for all grades of liquid caustic potash. The increase in off-schedule prices for 45% basis liquid caustic potash is 90 cents per hundredweight and $1 per hundredweight for 50% basis liquid caustic potash.

Vulcan Chemicals is a unit of Birmingham, Alabama-based Vulcan Materials. It manufactures chlorine, caustic soda and a diversified line of industrial chemicals.
