BUCHAREST (CNI)--Romania's Rehau Polymer is to invest Euro5m ($4.9m) in a plant producing polyethylene (PE) and polyvinyl chloride (PVC) tubes and profiles in Sibiu, central Romania, CNI was informed on Tuesday.
The plant is expected to be completed by spring 2003 and will create around 50 jobs in the first phase and 200 in total. Construction is scheduled to start next month.
Rehau Polymer is part of Germany-based polymer system supplier Rehau.
Emil Pop, Rehau’s representative in Romania, said this will be Rehau’s first factory in Romania, and will complete the group's production network formed by units in Austria, Germany, Poland and Turkey.
About 80% of output from the new factory will be supplied to the domestic market, he added.
