Teijin mulls debottlenecking Singapore PC plant in ‘03

SINGAPORE (CNI)—Teijin Polycarbonate is mulling debottlenecking its 130 000 tonne/year polycarbonate (PC) plant in Singapore, a company source told CNI on Thursday.
The source said the company had yet to decide on the extra capacity to be added through the debottlenecking. This would depend on the size of the investment the company was willing to make.
The source added that the company would arrive at a concrete decision by March-April next year.
Teijin currently operates three lines at its Singapore plant, two of which remain under maintenance and are expected back online on 19 October.
