Honeywell Launches ProductThe industry solutions business of Honeywell Automation and Control Solutions has introduced Advanced Formula Manager (AFM), a calculation solution that transforms plant data from Honeywell's Uniformance Plant History Database into process information through user-defined equations and formulas. Eastman Chemical Company has selected ClearResearch from ClearForest, a provider of unstructured data management software. ClearResearch operates across multiple industries to tag, analyze and deliver business intelligence from large document collections.

Eastman Chemical Company has tripled the number of customer-focused surveys using an enterprise scale Web-based survey solution developed by Inquisite, a provider of Web-based survey technology. In 2002, Eastman deployed 95 customer surveys, up from 30 in 2001, to audiences ranging from 100 to 2,000 respondents.

Trade-Ranger, an e-marketplace for the oil and gas and chemical industries, and OFS Portal, which represents oilfield products and services, have agreed to provide a framework for members of both organizations to transact electronically with each other.
Vos Logistics, Transwide Team
Vos Logistics, a European asset-based logistics provider, is now connected to Transwide's neutral platform. Vos Logistics has integrated its internal Transport Management System LoVos with onboard computer processes to generate real-time data and is using Transwide to provide this electronic communication with translation capability. Vos has established Transwide connections for Solvin, a joint venture of Solvay and BASF, and BPSolvay, a joint venture of Solvay and BP.
Adexs Names CEO
Automated Document Exchange Services Inc. (Adexs), creator of the eBinder platform for document management, has named Tom Arnold as president and CEO and has secured $3 million in private funding. Adexs was formed in 2001 from fob, the online purchasing hub for chemicals.
GXS Offers E-Settlement
Global eXchange Services (GXS,) the operator of a B2B e-commerce network, is now offering advanced payment and management capabilities through its Electronic Commerce Service Center, which includes the ePcard XML electronic settlement tool. EPcard XML, developed by GE Capital Financial Inc., the corporate care unit of GE Consumer Finance, is an electronic settlement tool that digitizes the purchase order handling process. The tool allows suppliers to accept and process orders while automatically reconciling transaction costs.
Cimnet, Microsoft Team
Cimnet Inc., a software provider for manufacturing execution systems (MES), has formed a partnership reauthorization with Microsoft Corp.'s Microsoft Business Solutions for the purpose of integrating Cimnet's Factelligence solution with Microsoft's Axapta for the upper mid-market. The combined solution offering is specifically designed for growing manufacturing businesses in the $100 million to $800 million range. The combined offering provides a "designed for" mid-market ERP/MES suite built on Microsoft standards while eliminating costly integration costs normally associated with implementing both an ERP (enterprise resource planning) and MES solution independently.
SAP Enhances SCM
SAP AG has enhanced its mySAP Supply Chain Management (mySAP SCM) solution by expanding logistics execution functionality to include rail car management and customer freight invoicing. The new logistics capabilities extend SAP's adaptive supply chain strategy of providing greater visibility and control to the movement of inventory and assets across supply networks. The combination of these new engines, along with SAP's core transportation management capabilities in mySAP SCM, targets industries that rely on rail car shipping, such as the chemical, oil and gas, consumer products and mining industries.
