HOUSTON (CNI)--Celanese Chemicals said Thursday it is increasing the prices of glacial acrylic acid and acrylate esters in the Americas, Europe, Africa and the Middle East by $66-70/tonne effective 1 January.
The company provided no reason for the increase. Officials at Dallas, Texas-based Celanese were not immediately available Thursday to respond to questions about the price hikes.
Celanese said it would raise North American prices of glacial acrylic acid, 2-ethylhexyl acrylate, methyl acrylate, ethyl acrylate and butyl acrylate by $66/tonne.
Prices for glacial acrylic acid, 2-ethylhexyl acrylate, methyl acrylate, ethyl acrylate and butyl acrylate will increase Euro70 in Europe, Africa and the Middle East and $70/tonne in South America.
