Eastman Asia Pacific to hike acetic anhydride price

SINGAPORE (CNI)-- Eastman Chemical Asia Pacific has announced a $0.05/kg  increase in list and off-list prices for all grades of acetic anhydride with effect from 1 January 2003.

The company said the price increase was due to increased costs, particularly energy and raw material costs.

Acetic anhydride is manufactured by Eastman and supplied in various grades. It is available in reagent grade, as well as kosher product that may be used in foods and as a reactant only.

Headquartered in Kingsport, Tennessee, USA, Eastman manufactures and markets chemicals, fibres and plastics worldwide. The company has approximately 15,800 employees in more than 30 countries and had 2001 sales of $5.4bn.
