HOUSTON (CNI)--Specialty chemicals producer Albemarle said Monday it has increased its aluminium alkyl prices 6% globally effective 1 January or as contracts allow.

The Richmond, Virginia-based company said the price hike would help the company to "continue to sustain its industry-leading level of product stewardship and customer logistical support for its aluminium alkyl products."

Albemarle is a leading global producer of aluminium alkyls used in polyolefin production and chemical synthesis as well as other specialty chemicals.
