MEXICO CITY (CNI)--BASF Mexico said Monday that effective 15 February it will increase the selling price for acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) produced in Mexico by $132 per tonne.

The ABS price increase will apply to domestic sales and exports to the US, the company said. BASF said it had not yet determined whether the increase will be applied to sales to South America.

The price increase was attributed to an increase in the cost of raw materials.

BASF facilities at Altamira in the northwest state of Tamaulipas produce more than 130 000 tonne/year of ABS.
