LONDON (CNI)--Basell announced on Tuesday further rationalisation and restructuring measures in its distribution network, with changes involving France, the UK, Ireland, Italy and Nordic countries.
The European polyolefins major is making more use of the new German-headquartered distribution group Ultrapolymers, which benefited substantially in the last round of rationalisation in September, and is phasing out the use of other distributors.
Basell admitted it had inherited over 50 distributors from its joint venture parents Shell and BASF and needs to make more sense of its network.
