SINGAPORE (CNI)--Basell has launched a new India representative office in Mumbai, saying that the office strengthens the company's commitment to the country's fast-growing polyolefins markets.
Nello Pasquini, Basell's vice president for international research and development, said the new office in Mumbai would allow Basell to significantly enhance the company's customer and technical support in India.
Basell's new office will also explore synergies with Machino Basell India Ltd (MBI) to penetrate niche markets in India. MBI manufactures advanced polyolefins for automotive, industrial and appliance applications.
Basell develops, produces and markets polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PE), advanced polyolefin materials and polyolefin catalysts, and also develops and licenses polyolefin processes. Basell's corporate centre is located in Hoofddorp, the Netherlands.
The launch coincided with the PlastIndia 2003 Exhibition and Conference in New Delhi, India's largest plastics fair and one of the key worldwide plastics industry meetings.
