LONDON (CNI)--US-based Resolution Performance Products is seeking to raise its bisphenol A (BPA) and epichlorohydrin (ECH) prices by about 10% from 1 March or as contracts allow, global business manager for precursors Jorrit Klaus told CNI on Friday.
For BPA, the increase will be $100/tonne in Asia Pacific, Euro100/tonne in Europe and 5 cents a pound in the Americas.
The hike for ECH will be Euro100/tonne in Europe and 5 cent/lb in the Americas.
Independent market observers, however, believe it is unlikely that the proposed European price increases for both products will be fully accepted by customers.
Resolution Performance Products, which is owned by US-based investment firm Apollo Management, produces epoxy resins at plants in Germany, The Netherlands, Spain, the UK, Japan and the US.
