SINGAPORE (CNI)--BP Chemical Malaysia has restored to full capacity its 600 000 tonne/year purified terephthalic acid (PTA) plant at Kuantan, Pahang, a spokesman for the company told CNI on Thursday.
The spokesman said the company had been operating at a lower rate due to a problem with one of the two reactors at the complex, although he would not provide details on when the problem arose and what impact it had had on production.
BP had reportedly reduced the operating rate of the plant by as much as 50% since 21 February.
The plant underwent a 12-day turnaround in October of last year.
