LONDON (CNI)--UK chemicals and man-made fibres output grew 0.9% in November-January compared with the same period of 2001-02, according to figures published Tuesday by the Office for National Statistics (ONS).

Compared with the preceding three months, chemicals and man-made fibres output was unchanged.

The figures showed, however, that chemicals output performance outstripped that of overall UK manufacturing.

Total UK manufacturing output slipped 0.9% in November-January compared with the same last year and was down 0.5% from the preceding three months.
