LONDON (CNI)--BP hopes to resume production from its largest acetic acid line at Hull in northeast England over the weekend, a source at the UK energy and chemicals major told CNI on Friday.
The 400 000 tonne/year capacity line - part of BP's approximately 750 000 tonne Hull acetic acid complex - was shut four days ago following technical problems with one of the two carbon monoxide plants.
However, the source said the carbon monoxide plant was being restarted later today and it was hoped to resume output from the acetic acid line early on Saturday.
He said BP has been able to keep customers supplied from stocks.
