LONDON (CNI)--Production from the UK's chemicals and man-made fibres industries fell 0.5% in April compared with the corresponding period last year, according to data published on Monday by the Office for National Statistics (ONS).It showed that output was virtually unchanged in April compared with the previous month.
Chemicals and man-made fibres production over the three months February to April was down 0.9% on the corresponding period last year and 0.7% below the previous three months (November 2002 to January 2003).
Overall UK manufacturing production in April fell 1.2% compared with the same period last year but rose 0.3% from March.
Over the three months February to April, total UK manufacturing output was down 1% year-on-year and flat on the previous three months.
