SINGAPORE (CNI)—PetroChina announced on Friday it upped its production of ethylene by 24.6% year-on-year to 415 000 tonne in the three months (Q2) ended 30 June 2003.
The Chinese refining and petrochemical major said production was increased as it adjusted its product structure to adapt to changing market conditions.
PetroChina produced 525 000 tonne of synthetic resins in Q2 this year, an increase of 19.3%. It increased production of synthetic rubber by 4.1% to 51 000 tonne and output of urea was increased by 7.4% to 974 000 tonne.
The company’s refineries processed 149.7m bbl of crude oil, up 3.1% year-on-year, from which it produced approximately 4.49 m tonne of gasoline – an increase of 11.9% - and 8.086m tonne of diesel, up 7.4%.
PetroChina has released its production and operational data as a precursor to its results announcement, scheduled for the end of this month.
