LONDON (CNI)--Resolution Performance Products announced Monday it will seek increases to off-list prices of epichlorohydrin (ECH) and bisphenol A (BPA) in Europe, Middle East and Africa from 1 January 2004.
The US-based firm said it would seek a rise of Euro100/tonne in ECH prices, which represents an intended hike of about 10%. However, according to pricing service ICIS-LOR*, reasonable balance in the market suggests that such an increase would be a challenge to achieve.
Resolution will seek BPA prices increases of Euro50/tonne, which would be a rise of around 5%. Despite tight supplies, however, it is unclear how the market may respond to the proposed increase due to slow downstream demand, according to ICIS-LOR.
