LONDON (CNI)--The UK Chemical Industries Association (CIA) said Friday it has undertaken a reorganisation in a move towards adopting a more proactive issues-management approach.
With effect from 1 January 2004, Steve Elliott has become director of business environment covering all of the areas previously covered by the Responsible Care and business & competitiveness directorates.
Jon Chapman, director of Responsible Care, will be leaving CIA towards the end of January.
Also effective from 1 January, Tony Scott has become director of specialties and business development.
In addition to his responsibilities for the European specialties sector group and overseeing of the activities of the Specialised Organic Chemicals Sector Association (SOCSA), Scott will also work on identifying business development opportunities for the CIA and advising the Chemical Industry Education Centre (CIEC) in a similar capacity.
