Uhde integrates sister firm ThyssenKrupp EnCoke

LONDON (CNI)--German engineering company Uhde said Thursday it will integrate the business of sister firm ThyssenKrupp EnCoke on 1 April.

 

Dortmund-based Uhde and Bochum-based ThyssenKrupp EnCoke both belong to the plant technology division of parent ThyssenKrupp Technologies.

 

Uhde said it will take over the around 150 employees of ThyssenKrupp EnCoke, who moved from Bochum to Dortmund today.

 

The integration of ThyssenKrupp EnCoke will add coke plant technologies to Uhde's technology portfolio. Uhde has more than 3700 employees worldwide and has so far been active in the design and construction of chemical and other industrial plants in the fields of refining technologies, fertilisers, organic intermediates & polymers, electrolysis, gas technologies, gasification of oil, coal & residues and pharmaceuticals.

 

The subsidiaries of ThyssenKrupp EnCoke, including the biggest one Still Otto Montage, will also be integrated into Uhde. Haltern, Germany-based Still Otto Montage has some 160 employees and specialises in the maintenance, repair and erection of coke plants, major petrochemical/chemical plants and facilities in other industrial sectors. These activities will remain at the same location, complementing the offerings of Uhde's services division.

 

With a broad spectrum of solutions, from revamps to complete new plants, coke plant technologies will make an important contribution to cost effective, environmentally friendly steel production, said Uhde.
