LONDON (CNI)--US-headquartered Dow is currently running its cracker in Boehlen, eastern Germany at 50% capacity due to technical problems, a company source told CNI on Friday.

One compressor at the plant had gone down last night but he said this problem should be resolved in a week’s time.

There is no force majeure declaration as customer demand can be met with existing inventory, the source added.

The Boehlen cracker has a nameplate capacity of 510 000 tonne/year for ethylene and 225 000 tonne/year for propylene.
