MOSCOW (CNI)--Russian petrochemical company Sibur has secured a Rouble542m ($18.6m/Euro15.4m) three-year loan for subsidiary Sibur-Khimprom’s styrene expansion in Perm, Russia.

Sibur spokeswoman Natalia Kovalkova told CNI on Thursday the loan, from Evrofinance bank, will enable output to be almost doubled to 100 000 tonne/year.

She declined to elaborate on whether a new production line will be built but said the expansion will be completed by 2006.

Sibur-Khimprom produced 51 700 tonne of styrene in 2003, 12% of Russia’s output.
