HOUSTON (CNI)--Frontier Oil has renewed its agreement for the Plaza Group to exclusively market benzene produced by its 110 000 bbl/day refinery at El Dorado, Kansas.

The companies, both of which are based in Houston, Texas, said the contract is valued at $50m/year (Euro41m).

Plaza Group President Randy Velarde said the company has marketed benzene from the plant since 1994 for owners that have included Texaco, then Equilon and now Frontier.

Frontier, an independent refiner, also operates a 41 000 bbl/day refinery in Cheyenne, Wyoming. It markets refined products along the eastern slope of the Rocky Mountains and in neighbouring plains states.
