Tobin M. Ryan

Tobin M. Ryan has been appointed chief operating officer at Tomah3 Products, Inc. He has 17 years of corporate experience in various areas including sales, marketing, business development, and general management. Prior to joining Tomah3 in November 2002, he held positions at Imagitas Inc., Bain and Company, and General Electric.

Marucs Gemeund

Marcus Gemeund has joined Genentech Inc. as vice president of manufacturing collaborations and contract manufacturing. In this newly created role, he will be responsible for managing Genentech's outsourcing strategies for bulk manufacturing, filling and packaging, and directing the management of supply relationships with Genentech's commercial partners.

Debra Berman

Debra Berman has been appointed bulk ingredients sales manager at Bio-Botanica Inc. She joins the company with over 15 years of sales experience in both private label manufacturing and bulk raw material sales.

Marcelo Carvalho de Andrade

Marcelo Carvalho de Andrade has been named to DuPont’s external biotechnology advisory panel, an independent panel charged with providing counsel to guide DuPont’s actions, helping to create positions on important issues, as well as challenging the organization in the development, testing and commercialization of new products based on biotechnology. Mr. de Andrade is the founder and chairman of Pro-Natura, the first international non-governmental organization based in the southern hemisphere to specialize in sustainable development.

Jack Goldstein

Jack Goldstein has been named to the newly created position of chief operating officer (COO) at Chiron Corp. He was previously president of Chiron Blood Testing. He brings health care industry experience to his new role as COO, having served 11 years with Johnson & Johnson in a variety of executive positions, including president of ortho diagnostic systems and executive vice president of professional diagnostics.

Anne Hill

Anne Hill has been appointed vice president of human resources at Chiron Corp. She joins Chiron from Baxter International Inc., where she served in a variety of executive positions from 1991 to 2004. Most recently, she was vice president of human resources at Baxter Bioscience.

Wayne Laslie

Wayne Laslie has been named chief operating officer and chief commercial officer for Myriad Pharmaceuticals Inc. He will oversee all aspects of commercial strategy and implementation for therapeutic compounds at Myriad. Initially, Mr. Laslie will refine and execute the commercial strategy for Myriad’s lead drug candidate, Flurizan, which is undergoing Phase II clinical trials for Alzheimer’s disease. In addition, defining strategies for the company’s new cancer therapuetic candidates will be a high priority.

Meghan Leader

Meghan Leader has been appointed vice president of business support and chief information officer at Chiron Corp. She will be responsible for information management, corporate facilities management and corporate risk mitigation services. Ms. Leader joined Chiron more than 12 years ago and was most recently vice president and chief information officer.

John Lowry

John Lowry has been named a partner, vice president and director of strategic development at Chemark Consulting Group Inc. He comes to Chemark with 30 years of experience in adhesives, sealants, composite materials and coatings for the automotive, aerospace and construction industries. In addition, he has experience in research and development and sales and marketing.

Marcus Meadows-Smith

Marcus Meadows-Smith has been appointed executive vice president of crop protection at Crompton Corp., upon the retirement of Al Ingulli on January 1. Mr. Meadows-Smith joined the company in 1993 and was most recently the business director for crop protection for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Under his leadership, sales in Europe have increased dramatically, and a new third-party product strategy that he developed contributed to that growth. He came to Crompton via Sumitomo Corp., where he was marketing manager, agricultural and public health chemicals for Europe, the Middle East and northern Africa.

Timothy L. Moore

Timothy L. Moore has joined Genentech as vice president of corporate engineering. He will lead the development and implementation of engineering projects that support Genentech’s growth, including the development of compliant and robust manufacturing systems, equipment and facilities. He was most recently vice president of operations at ZLB Behring (formerly Aventis Behring), where he managed aseptic biological manufacturing operations.

Achim Mueller

Achim Mueller has been appointed as European marketing manager for Bioenvision. He was formerly with Roche Products Ltd. as a business unit manager. He will manage the company’s marketing programs for clofarabine and Modrenal.

Nat Ricciardi

Nat Ricciardi has been named president of Pfizer Global Manufacturing (PGM) and will be appointed to lead the Pfizer leadership team headed by chairman and CEO Hank McKinnell. In his new position, Mr. Ricciardi will be responsible for global manufacturing as well as the company’s worldwide distribution ntwork. He succeeds John Mitchell, who will retire at the end of the year after 40 years with Pfizer. Mr. Ricciardi has worked at Pfizer for more than 30 years in various positions in both the US and Puerto Rico. As a member of Mr. Mitchell’s leadership team he helped establish PGM as a quality-focused manufacturing operation in the pharmaceutical industry.

Christof von Branconi

Christof von Branconi has been named to Lurgi AG’s executive board by the supervisory board of the company. He will take over responsibility for engineering and operations from Andreas Lusch, who will now be in charge of foreign subsidiaries, joint ventures and cooperations.

Gene Walther

Gene Walther has been named acting president of Chiron Blood Testing. He is currently vice president for Chiron Blood Testing commercial operations in the Americas. Prior to joining the company, Mr. Walther held executive management positions in sales, marketing and business development at Gen-Probe Inc., Abbott Diagnostics and American Hospital Supply Corp.
