Bayer CropScience said it has already started transferring relevant sales activities to Lanxess and will complete this process by the end of the year.
As part of the new arrangement, which focuses specifically on wood protection products, Lanxess will have sole distribution rights in the material protection field for a number of active ingredients and formulations formerly marketed by Bayer Environmental Science. Lanxess will become responsible for local customer care, the support of customers with technical advice on applications and all other customer-oriented tasks.
Lanxess pointed out, however, that the distribution agreement covers only the material protection uses of the concerned products. It said existing arrangements of Bayer CropScience and Bayer Environmental Science will remain unchanged for other uses of these products.
Ulrich Beck, head of the Material Protection Products business unit at Lanxess, explained that initially Lanxess will continue to sell all the products previously marketed by Bayer Environmental Science in the material protection field and that existing commercial names and grades will be retained for the time being.
The main products that will be added to the Lanxess material protection range are the active substances permethrin, deltamethrin, cypermethrin and carbendazim as well as formulated products marketed as Evotek and K-Otek, the company explained.
