Pamela Joy Barton
Pamela Joy Barton has been appointed vice president of business development at Nabi Biopharmaceuticals. Her focus will be in product and technology licensing and acquisition opportunities, alliances to facilitate the global expansion of markets for company products, and mergers and acquisitions opportunities. Ms. Barton joins the company from Sosei Company Ltd., where she was vice president of business development.
Robert E. Campbell
Robert E. Campbell has been appointed lead director of Barrier Therapeutics Inc.’s board of directors. He will chair the meetings of the independent directors in executive sessions of the board and facilitate communications between the members of the board and the chairman of the board. Mr. Campbell is a retired executive from Johnson & Johnson after having served as vice chairman of the board of directors for over a decade.
Randy Clegg
Randy Clegg has been appointed vice president of sales and marketing at Me-tera Inc. He will oversee all of Metera’s sales worldwide and will focus on in-creasing the company’s business through strategic customer engagements. Mr. Clegg joins the company after 13 years at Novellus Systems, where he held numerous positions in sales and sales management, including president of North American operations.
Matthew E. Czajkowski
Matthew E. Czajkowski has been appointed executive vice president and chief financial officer at aaiPharma Inc. Prior to joining the company, Mr. Czajkowski was senior vice president of finance and administration and chief financial officer at Pozen Inc. He received his bachelor’s degree from Harvard University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Richard Dodson
Richard Dodson has been appointed president of investor services at Archer Daniels Midland Company, effective February 1. He joined the company in 1975 after the purchase of Tabor Grain and has held various positions within ADM investor services including controller and senior vice president. Mr. Dodson received a BS in accounting in addition to an MBA from Eastern Illinois University.
Mark T. Frost
Mark T. Frost has been appointed chief financial officer at Albany Molecular Research Inc. He has nearly 20 years of broad-based and senior-level financial experience, including financial planning and analysis, raising of capital and corporate auditing. Previously, he was vice president of finance for Smith and Nephew Endoscopy.
Steven Kelly
Steven Kelly has been named president and CEO at Innovive Pharmaceuticals Inc. He has more than 15 years of experience in a variety of commercial roles in biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies. Prior to joining Innovive, Mr. Kelly headed the oncology marketing group at Sanofi-Synthelabo’s US division. He holds an MBA from Cornell University and a BS in biology and chemistry from the University of Oregon.
Gregory M. Masica
Gregory M. Masica has been appointed director of manufacturing for BASF Corp.’s engineering plastics business in North America. He has 20 years of experience in plastics ranging from production engineering, polymer process en-gineering and compounding operations engineering, to quality operations and product management. Mr. Masica has a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio.
Frank E. McKulka
Frank E. McKulka, executive vice pre-sident of BASF Corp. and president of the company’s plastics, coatings and fine chemicals businesses, has received the National Paint and Coatings Associa-tion’s (NPCA) highest honor, the George Baugh Heckel Award. Mr. McKulka was given the award for his efforts in helping NPCA launch the Community Lead Education and Reduction Corp., a program targeted at reducing lead exposure to at-risk children and educating communities in inner cities most at risk, about the hazards of lead poisoning. He will retire from BASF December 31, and plans to continue to be involved in community outreach activities.
Douglas Pike
Douglas Pike has been promoted to vice president of investor relations at Lyondell Chemical Company. Mr. Pike has served as director of investor relations for Lyondell since 2002, and has held numerous positions of increasing responsibility in the areas of business management, business analysis, planning and manufacturing since joining the company in 1977. He holds a BS in chemical and petroleum refining from the Colorado School of Mines.
Douglas D. Richman
Douglas D. Richman has been appointed chairman of clinical and scientific advisory board at Anadys Pharmaceuticals Inc. Dr. Richman is an expert in infectious diseases and has played a leading role in guiding the development of new anti-infective medicines. He is currently a professor of pathology and medicine at the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine.
Chad C. Waldschmidt
Chad C. Waldschmidt has been appointed North American, area director for all business, commercial and production operations for Rhodia’s engineering plastics business. He is a 34-year US plastics industry veteran who has spent the last 20 years serving the automotive market.
John L. Walsh
John L. Walsh has been named president and chief operating officer at UGI Corp., effective April 1, 2005. He will also join the boards of directors of UGI, AmeriGas Propane Inc. and UGI Utilities. Mr. Walsh currently serves as chief executive of the industrial and special products division of BOC Group PLC. He will relocate to Valley Forge, Pa., from London.

Brett Able has been named exe-cutive director of global supply chains at Dow Corning.
Graham Dixon
Patrick Vazquez, director of US sales for Alpharma Inc., has been elected president of the Drug, Chemical and Associated Technologies Association (DCAT). His major focus is on active pharmaceutical ingredients, with an emphasis on specialized systemic applications and specific actives for both ointments and fungal infections. Mr. Vazquez has been active in DCAT for several years, serving on the executive committee for the past five and on the membership committee prior to that.
Kevin Harrison
Ueli Roost has joined SF-Chem as CEO. His professional career started more than 30 years ago with then Ciba-Geigy in Basel and Toms River/USA. “Mr. Roost looks forward to work for SF-Chem and further strengthen and develop the company on the way to a truly independent and successful partner,” comments a company spokesperson.
