LONDON (CNI)--Swiss flavours and fragrances producer Firmenich said Tuesday it has acquired Noville, described as a leading company in the US perfume and flavours market.

Geneva-based Firmenich, a private, family-owned business, did not disclose the purchase price or details of Noville’s financial performance.

The South Hackensack, New Jersey-based Noville has two production sites in the US and one each in France and China. The firm is 66 years old.

Firmenich chief executive Patrick Firmenich said of the deal: “The acquisition of this highly focused and reputable private company matches our commercial strategy and represents an excellent cultural fit. It allows us to reinforce our position in major US market segments and to access important new clients.”

Noville, said Firmenich, is “particularly well positioned in the US home care and oral care markets”.
