Finland’s Neste Marketing and Kemira GrowHow will cooperate on the sale and distribution of selective catalytic reduction (SCR) products. The two have already begun to distribute Greenox AdBlue solution in Finland through Neste’s network.
Neste will expand the network with a few pilot stations during 2006. The pace of the expansion depends on the number of SCR vehicles in the country, said Neste, but the next stations will be in southern Finland.
Neste opened its Napapiiri (Arctic Circle) station in Rovaniemi on 18 February, which it said is the world’s northernmost distribution point for Greenox Adblue.
SCR catalytic converters, which reduce nitrogen oxides to harmless nitrogen gas and water, are being installed in diesel-fuelled vehicles to meet new emission standards to be adopted in 2005-06.
AdBlue, a standardised urea solution, is used in the SCR catalytic system and can reduce a vehicle’s diesel consumption by about 5%.
