SINGAPORE (CNI)--Japan's Mitsubishi Rayon has planned a turnaround for its 217,000 tonne/year methyl methacrylate (MMA) plant in Ohtake, Hiroshima prefecture later this year, a company official told CNI on Wednesday.

The plant’s 110,000 tonne/year No 1 line would be shut for 30 days in May while the 107,000 tonne/year No 2 line would be shut for 30 days in September.

The official said that there were no plans to debottleneck the plant this year.

Besides the Ohtake plant, the company also operates a 90,000 tonne/year MMA plant in Mab Ta Phut, Thailand. The plant had a 40-day turnaround in late November last year and will not have one this year.
