LONDON (CNI)--Sabic EuroPetrochemicals confirmed Monday that its 160,000 tonne/year high density polyethylene (hdPE) plants at Geleen, Netherlands has restarted.

The slurry loop plant went out of production on 27 February due to heat transfer problems in the reactor. It started up successfully on Saturday (5 March).

Production was lost for 7 days, and a spokesman told CNI last week that there will be a temporary shortage on some blow moulding material grades. No force majeure declaration was made.

Sabic's other 160,000 tonne/year hdPE plant at Geleen has been operating normally throughout.
