SHANGHAI (CNI)--Saudi Yanbu Petrochemical Co (Yanpet) II would restart its No 2 monoethylene glycol (MEG) plant in Yanbu, Saudi Arabia, on 25 March, a source close to the company told CNI on Monday.

The 50:50 joint venture between Sabic and ExxonMobil Chemical shut the 350,000 tonne/year No 2 plant on 14 February for a 40-day turnaround during which the plant would be debottlenecked by 100,000 tonne/year.

The unit is built downstream of Yanpet II which owns a 880,000 tonne/year cracker at the same site.
