Akzo Nobel Surface Chemistry LLC is increasing the price of its nitrile-based amines and amine derivatives and its Witbreak demulsifiers by 5c. per pound on April 1.
Albemarle Corp. is, as of April 1, increasing global prices for its Antiblaze TMCP flame retardant [tris(2-chloropropyl) phosphate] by 10 percent, Saytex CP-2000 flame retardant by 7 percent, and Saytex RB-79 products (brominated diols), Saytex HP 900 flame retardant (hexabromocyclododecane) and the rest of the Antiblaze flame retardant product line (chloroalkyl phosphates, phosphates, and phosphonates) by 5 percent.
Ashland Specialty Polymers and Adhesives is increasing the price of Isogrip moisture-cured urethane adhesives by 9 percent on March 15.
BASF will, on April 1, increase North American prices by 4c. per pound on all grades and forms of the following Trilon chelating agents: Trilon A Liquid, B Liquid (Sequestrene 30A), BX Liquid, BKT Liquid, C Liquid (Chel DTPA 41), C Liquid 50 percent (Chel DTPA 50), D Liquid (Chel DM 41), BAD Liquid and Trilon BAQ Liquid. BASF will also raise prices in the US and Canada on all Styronal carboxylated styrene-butadiene, Basonal multi-monomer and Acronal styrene-acrylic paper coating binder dispersions by 5c. per dry pound.
Celanese Chemicals is, on March 15, increasing North American prices for PVAc homopolymer and VAE copolymers by 3c. per wet pound, and acrylic and vinyl-acrylic emulsions by 6c. per wet pound. On April 1, is increasing the price of mono isopropyl amine, di-n-propyl amine, tri-n-propyl amine, n-butyl amine, di-n-butyl amine and tri-n-butyl amine by €120 per metric ton in Europe and a $150 per metric ton in Asia. (These products are not offered by Celanese in the Americas.) The company is also increasing prices of 2-EH amine and di-2-EH amine by $88 per metric ton in the Americas, €100 per metric ton in Europe and $150 per metric ton in Asia; as well as DMAPA prices by $154 per metric ton in the Americas, €150 per metric ton in Europe, and $200 per metric ton in Asia.
Dover Chemical Corp. is, as of April 1, increasing the prices of all grades of its chlorinated products by 5c. per pound. This includes the Paroil, Chlorez, Chlorowax, Doverguard, Doverchlor, Doversperse, Bromoklor, Fyarestor, DO (chlorinated olefins) and DA (chlorinated fatty compounds) lines.
Dow Chemical Company has, as of March 12, increased North American prices for its Quat 188 cationic reagent by 15c. per pound. As of April 1, Dow is increasing US and Canadian prices for its Dowicide 1/1E, A and 25L products by 10 percent. As of April 15, Dow will increase worldwide prices for its complete range of ion exchange resins, adsorbents and catalysts by 5 to 10 percent. On May 31, Dow’s subsidiary, FilmTec Corp., will increase global prices of its FilmTec reverse osmosis and nanofiltration membranes by 6 percent.
Eastman Chemical Company is, as of April 1, increasing the price of its neopentyl glycol by 6c. per pound in the Americas, Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Also on April 1, the company will increase the drum adder for all Eastman division liquid chemicals pricing by 3c. per pound globally. This increase is due to rising packaging costs and will be in addition to any specific price increases.
Geo Specialty Chemicals is, as of April 1, increasing the price of its Echo thiadiazole derivative by 3.5 percent.
Hercules Inc.’s Pinova division will, as of March 15, increase global prices for rosin resins, liquid terpene and polyterpene products by 8 to 10 percent. The company says that some select product lines may have a higher percentage increase due to raw material volatility.
International Specialty Products Inc. will increase the price of its Hot Polymer line by 9c. to 12c. per pound, depending upon product grade, effective April 1.
Nalco Company has, as of February 28, implemented price increases for Industrial and Institutional Services Division customers expected to range from 7 to 15 percent on a broad range of products.
Sartomer has, as of March 1, increased the European price of its Craynor and Actilane product ranges by €0.30 per kilogram.
Stepan Company, effective April 1, will increase pricing for select surfactant products: Stepanate hydrotropes will be increased by 1c. per pound. Bio-Terge olefin sulfonates, Stepanol low active alcohol and Steol alkyl ether sulfates will be increased by 2c. per pound. Bio-Soft alkyl benzene sulfonic acids and Amphosol betaines will go up 3c. per pound. Steol high active 70 percent alkyl ether sulfates will be increased by 4c. per pound; and Ninol alkanolamides will be increased by 3c. to 5c. per pound. The company says blends and derivatives of these products will be increased accordingly.
Supresta LLC will, on April 1, increase the off-list prices on several product lines: the company’s Fyrol FR2 series, phosphorus trichloride and phosphorus oxytrichloride will be increased by 5c. per pound; Fyrol PCF and CEF, and Phosflex plasticizer by 10c. per pound; Phosflex tri-butyl phosphate, Fyrquel and SynOAd by 15c. per pound; and Fyrolflex by 20c. per pound.
US Amines has, as of March 3, increased the North American price of its mono cyclohexyl amine by 8c. per pound (and by $175 per metric ton in South America). As of April 1, the company is increasing the North American prices of mono and di normal propyl amines, mono and di normal butyl amines and mono iso propyl amine and solutions (MIPA 70 percent) by 6c. per pound (and by $130 per metric ton in South America), and mono, di and tri allyl amines by 10c. per pound.
Velsicol Chemical Corp. is instituting a general price increase of 5 percent across its broad range of Admex polymeric plasticizer products on April 1; Benzoflex plasticizers, as well as benzoic acid and benzoic acid salts will be increased globally by 5c. per pound on the same date.
Verdugt BV is increasing the worldwide price of several of its products on April 1. Calcium propionate will be increased by €145 per metric ton; sodium propionate, by €155 per metric ton; the acetate product range, by €45 to €65 per metric ton; Calprona animal feed acidifier products, by €50; and sodium diacetate, by €150 per metric ton.
