HOUSTON (CNI)--Wyandotte, Michigan-based BASF said Wednesday it seeks to raise prices for the North American urethane slab foam market by 6 cent/pound, effective 1 April.?xml:namespace>
The company said the increase, equal to $132/tonne, would be in addition to a March 8 cent/pound price increase.
Larry Berkowski, director of BASF’s urethane chemicals, said: “This increase reflects current market conditions that include growing demand for these materials and escalating costs.”
It was not clear if customers would accept the proposed increases.
