LONDON (CNI)--German chemicals group BASF said Wednesday it plans to impose a Europe wide temporary surcharge of Euro20-90 a tonne on all paper coating latex.

It said the measure, which will apply from 1 April, was due to increasing raw material costs.

There was no-one immediately available at BASF's functional polymers division to give further details, including the planned duration of the proposed surcharge.
