Susan G. Arbuck

has been appointed vice president of oncology and global clinical development at Schering-Plough Research Institute. Most recently, Dr. Arbuck was vice president and global head of the oncology therapeutic area at Aventis Pharmaceuticals.

Abbie Celniker

has an expanded role as senior vice president of research and development strategy operations, and pharmaceutical sciences at Millennium Pharmaceuticals Inc. Prior to joining the company, Dr. Celniker was assistant vice president of predevelopment and biopharmaceutical core technologies at the Genetic Institute division of Wyest Ayerst.

Frank Cefalu

has been appointed senior sales executive at The Wercs Ltd. He has more than 15 years of experience in all phases of sales, sales management and national account management. Prior to joining the company, Cefalu was with Tonawanda Environmental, where he was responsible for business development efforts directed towards Fortune 500 companies.

Patricia McCarthy

has been hired as senior vice president and chief financial officer at Arkema Inc. McCarthy joins the company with more than 18 years of finance and accounting experience. Most recently, she was vice president of finance and operations at Pearson Education France.

Anna Protopapas

has been promoted to senior vice president of corporate development at Millennium Pharmaceuticals Inc. She leads the company’s efforts in strategic alliances, product acquisitions, out-licensing and new ventures. Protopapas joined Millennium in 1997 with diverse experiences ranging from business development to international marketing and chemical manufacturing.

Timothy Saddow

has been appointed senior market development manager for adhesives at Omnova Solutions’ performance chemicals business. Most recently, Saddow was sales executive for Clariant in its pigments and additives division.

David Schenkein

has been promoted to senior vice president of clinical development at Millennium Pharmaceuticals Inc. Dr. Schenkein will lead oncology, inflammation and cardiovascular clinical research efforts to develop novel therapies and direct the global medical affairs group in shaping the medical strategy for the company. He joined Millennium in 2001.

Nancy Simonian

has an expanded role as senior vice president of clinical, regulatory and medical affairs at Millennium Pharmaceuticals Inc. Prior to joining the company, Dr. Simonian was vice president of clinical research at Biogen Inc.
