BTX Business was quiet early in the week as most market participants were in San Antonio,Texas, for this year’s NPRA meeting. Spot benzene prices were discussed in the range of $3.80 to $3.85 per gallon. The April contract price for benzene remains unsettled. Although most consumers have agreed to a settlement of $3.90 per gallon, at least one buyer maintains it agreed to a $3.87 per-gallon deal. Toluene prices were talked at in the low-$2.20 per gallon range. The spot market for mixed xylenes was also quiet with prices around $2.03 per-gallon. The April mixed xylene contract was settled at $2.10 per gallon.
Ethylene Glycol MEGlobal has nominated a May Asian contract price of $1,080 per ton, which is $40 per ton less than its April nomination. Spot prices for monoethylene glycol are currently in the $1,000 per ton range.
