LONDON (CNI)--Sabic EuroChemicals' Geleen, Netherlands benzene plant has restarted, a company spokesman confirmed to CNI on Wednesday.

The plant came back onstream ahead of schedule last weekend (30 April-1 May). The benzene unit was down for the duration of the site's planned ethylene cracker outage, and was due to restart in the first week of May.

The 300,000 tonne/year plant has encountered some start-up problems and is not yet at full operating rates, the spokesman said, adding that these issues should be resolved soon.
