He said the proposed complex will produce 12,000 tonne/year each of TMP and NPG, 10,000 tonne/year of formic acid and 60,000 tonne/year of formalin. The formalin will be used as an intermediate for the proposed TMP and NPG units.
A start-up date for the project, estimated to cost $115m, was not immediately available. SRPC plans to invite interested engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) companies to submit their proposals for the project’s tender in early June, said the source. The deadline for the submission would be two months later, he added.
SRPC currently produces pentaerythritol, formalin and acetaldehyde at the same site.
