SHANGHAI (CNI)--China’s purified terephthalic acid (PTA) imports fell 14.7% in April to 511,660 tonne from March, according to statistics from the customs authorities.

A trader told CNI that there were lower imports as Chinese buyers were waiting for prices to stablise before making commitments.

April imports and exports of paraxylene (PX) increased to 123,854 tonne and 10,228 tonne, respectively, on an inter-month basis. Monoethylene glycol (MEG) imports also rose by 1.38% to 397,820 tonne.
