SINGAPORE (CNI)--Thailand's Rayong Olefins Co (ROC) plans to reduce the operating rate at its aromatics facility at Mab Ta Phut on Monday, in line with the government's decision to cut water supply to the petrochemical hub by 40%, a company source said.

The extent of the operating rate cut would be decided next week, he said, adding that the facility can produce 160,000 tonne/year of benzene and 80,000 tonne/year of toluene.

Meanwhile, ROC plans to bring forward the turnaround at its 800,000 tonne/year ethylene plant by about four months to the second half of July. The company's aromatics facility will likely be shut around the same time as the cracker, the source added.
