HOUSTON (CNI)--The US Chemical Safety and Hazard Investigation Board (CSB) plans to announce new findings Tuesday in its investigation of the fatal BP refinery explosion in ?xml:namespace>
?xml:namespace>
The CSB said today it “has uncovered new findings in the search for root causes” in the 23 March explosion that killed 15 workers and injured 170 others.
The CSB said it will conduct a press conference Tuesday in
BP said in its own interim findings report that errors by refinery employees led to the blast at the refinery’s isomerisation unit. BP is in the process of settling claims by injured workers and the families of those who died in the blast.
